Tina Chang

Tina Full name: Wei-chou Tina Chang
Nickname: Wei Wei
Born in Taiwan and raised in Tennessee, I moved to USA with my family when I was fifteen years old. We lived in Oak Ridge, TN which is near Knoxville (near the Smokey mountains). My father is a school teacher in Taiwan and my mother works as a kindergarten and piano teacher. My younger sister, Betty, is a senior at MIT. My brother, Andy, is only a freshman in high school

I love rollerblading, reading, music (piano, guitar, and singing), hanging out at Barnes&Nobles, and traveling. (Actually, I love my work very much too) My 'ideal' life is to live in one place no more than 5 years. The idea of 'getting a nice house and settling down' has no appeal to me whatsoever (for now at least). I would like to always have the ability to 'pack and go'... go places I've never visited before; work at places I've never dreamed of. It's so amazing to see what God has created all around the world, and I definitely don't want to 'stay in one city' and live the rest of my life there.

These days, life is good. I am happily fulfilled and I'm looking forward toward the next journey of marriage. I know that life can be hard to understand sometimes, but I find that God somehow always weaves his Hand in the most gracious and amazing ways that give me faith and hope.

Joe Chen

Joe Name: Joe Chen
Nickname: JoJo

I've got 2 moms, 2 dads, a half sister and a whole brother. How many people can say that? Seriously, I have two families, my mom and Junneck (step-dad), and my dad and Janice (step-mom), my older brother Dave and my little half-sister Debbie.

I was born in New York and stayed there for the majority of my life. My younger years (K-12) was in Rochester, and my college years was in a college near Albany. So you can say, I'm a purebread New Yorker.

After graduating from college, I was brought to North Carolina. At first, I didn't expect much from a southern state, but as time passed, NC can really grow on you. Now, it's one of the few places I wouldn't mind settling down in.

NC was the place where I grew a lot spiritually. I attended Raleigh Chinese Christian Church and a Chapel Hill college bible study, which incidently is where I met Tina. The "dimsum" group (double income, single unmarried... or something like that) really made the place like my second home.

After 4 years of NC, I transfered to Dallas TX, which is where Tina and I are at right now. If you can stand the heat, Dallas is a great place to be. The place is great for all-year round volleyball and rollerblading. You want to eat, shop or watch a movie? Dallas has more restaurants, malls and movie theatres than you can shake a stick at. And best of all, I love the church we're going to, Asian American Baptist Church.

After we get married, Tina and I plan to travel around a bit and enjoy the sights of America, then await to see where God leads us next.
