Pregnancy Class

I went to my first ?pregnancy class? by HMO today. It?s the first step all pregnant women have to go through so the nurses can start the pre-natal charts and gets some tests done before we see our Ob/Gyn. The class is somehow interesting. I hope baby Chen is healthy and happy. We?ll find out in a month.

I don?t know why the nurse didn?t ask me to take off my jacket when she weighed me. I had a whole bunch stuff in my packets when I stepped on the scale. Needless to say, I showed up fat and heavy. Whatever! I think I?ll go in with T-shirt and shorts next time just to mess up the chart for fun.

Ski trial

We went skiing with John, Lydia and Shirphoon. I was very careful about it, and didn?t try to be a hero and go on any blacks. No falls :)

1 month birthday

Joe and I celebrated baby Chen?s one month birthday! Everything is going ok so far (well, sometimes I stains a little bit which worries me quite a bit, but it usually stops quickly) Baby Chen is making me feel sick a lot of times now. Nothing major, but just a little nauseated. It comes and goes, but sometimes I feel bad all day long.

Health Insurance

We laughed and complained about us moving from PPO to HMO. We were with PPO all last year and didn?t use a cent out of it, so we changed back to HMO. And now we have to deal with using HMO hospitals. That means no options of going to the really nice Standford Children?s Hospital for delivery. Sorry baby Chen.

I quit drinking anything with caffeine? no more coffee or pearl tea. It wasn?t as hard as I thought it would be. I?m beginning to feel the power of a ?mom? :)

Pregnancy suspicion

I had some suspicions that I?m pregnant. So I did an EPT test while Joe was out teaching youth (I don?t want to alarm him) and bang! What do you know! I?ve accomplished my first new-year resolution on Jan 1st. I showed Joe the test first after he came home. We?re extremely delighted!

We tried to figure out when baby Chen was conceived, and our best guess is Dec 15th. Which means that all goes well, baby Chen?s birthday will be around Sep 9th, 2003.

We?ve decided not to tell everyone until March timeframe when I?m bordered the second trimester? just in case a miscarriage occurs.
