They finally did it!   Joe and Tina finally tied the knot on a warm Saturday of August 29th, 1998.  The place was at Tina's hometown in Knoxville, Tennessee.  About 130 relatives and close friends attended the wedding at the Calvary Baptist Church.

Things started a little shaky, as Joe and Tina missed their flight going from Dallas to Knoxville; but praise God, it was smooth sailing after that.

It was special seeing the people who are so close to us come together in one place and share the moment.   Since the wedding was relatively small, things didn't seem too hectic, and we were able to catch some quality moments talking to friends and relatives.

After the wedding, we took off to DisneyWorld (Florida) for a one week stay with Mickey at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Before deciding on our honeymoon spot, Joe had asked Tina "would you like to spend a romatic week with me at a beach, holding each other in our arms while we watch the sunset or get a headache going on all the rides at DisneyWorld, spending each day frantically fighting the crowds?"

Well, in honesty, it wasn't all that crowded, but we did get a headache after a week of rides and all the events DisneyWorld had to offer.  Trying to fit even the major attractions in just a week was tough... but we sure tried!

Animal Kingdom, a ride through zoo, had just opened at DisneyWorld, so we had to try that as well as our favorite park Epcot (where we spent 3 days) and the 3 Disney waterparks, which was kind of like going to the "beach", so I guess we had the best of both worlds!  :)

All in all, we couldn't have wished for a better start in marriage.  Some people say it's all down-hill from here.  We hope they're wrong!
