We were fortunate enough to have an engagement
party and a wedding shower. The engagement party was from our college and work
buddies. Karen and Rick set it up at Buena Vista's clubhouse, and we had dinner plus
some games. That's where we got our first ideas for a Disney theme. We got a Mickey cake
decoration from some AABC group (see picture above).
On June 28th, our church (AABC) young adult got together the wedding shower along
with Alan and Shirley, since they were getting married about the same time as us.
This one was held at Edwin's place, and I have to say, we were taken back at the amount of
preparation they did in decorating the place, cooking the food and organizing the
games. They even had party favors for everyone to take home. Wow, we were
touched!
One of the gifts we got at the wedding shower was a Mickey phone, so that pretty much
nailed down our wedding theme.
