Cheninfo Newsletter 2004

Hello everyone,

It's been a transitional year for the Chen family!   Maddy has transformed from a little baby who couldn't do much to a cute toddler with her own set of personalities.  She learned to crawl, self-feed, walk and just be a little queen who has her mommy and daddy wrapped around her fingers.  Inherited from both her parents, Maddy is also an incredible eating monster.

The Chens had many adventures this year.  We said good-byes to the sunny California as well as  many good friends and moved back east coast in Cary, North Carolina to be closer to Maddy's grandparents.   We moved into our new home on Maddy's 1st birthday and have since done lots of home improvement projects for this new nest.  Mommy and daddy still work for Cisco, and Maddy goes to a new school called Primrose Preschool.  Although mommy complained about NC much in the beginning (4 hurricanes passed through since we've arrived), Maddy adjusted flawlessly.  She impressed her teachers and other workers at the preschool by showing no signs of transitioning nor being a newcomer.  Although she is the only girl in her classroom, she holds her own quite well.

We also traveled to different places.  Maddy made her first Asia trip to Taiwan and celebrated her grant-grandmother's 80th birthday!  We had a wonderful time hanging out with all the relatives still living in Taiwan and Maddy loved the night markets and all the awesome authentic Chinese food.  We also met up with other Chens at Breckenridge, CO for skiing and family reunion during Thanksgiving.  Maddy got to play in the snow for the first time (although she wasn't too impressed by it), and she loved playing with her four cousins.

We are very thankful for all that had happened this year.  God is more than good to us!  We're blessed with being Maddy's parents; blessed to have our families much closer by; blessed with old/new friends near and far; blessed to plug back to the church we met 10 years ago.  The list goes on and on, and we can only humbly pray that God will use us to be blessings for others!

Anyway, we hope that our newsletter finds you well wherever you are.  Our home is always open for you to visit if you're in town.  As always, you can find the details of our lives at http://www.cheninfo.com

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from
